Escape is the new album by RUNES ORDER, Claudio Dondo’s long-running dark ambient project. It was created in collaboration with Regen Graves (Abysmal Grief) and sounds more dynamic and diverse than their previous work, Falsche Fragen.
The album fuses Berlin School elements with horror and thriller-inspired sounds, drawing influence from Fabio Frizzi, Claudio Simonetti, and the unmistakable mood of John Carpenter. Yet, it remains true to RUNES ORDER’s signature style, where deep ambient and spacey passages create a hypnotic yet eerie atmosphere.
The album also marks the return of Argento (Spite Extreme Wing), known for his unsettling vocals on The Art of Scare and Sorrow (2002). Here, he delivers spoken-word and declamatory performances.
