Chiron, the Australian darkwave/post-punk act, has released a new album. Founded by Michael Aliani (former IKON vocalist), the band includes Dino Molinaro (IKON, bass/cello) and Ivan Bullock (electric guitar). Influenced by Joy Division and early New Order, Michael left IKON in 1997 to start Chiron.
A Dark Beauty marks a bold evolution in Chiron’s sound. While known for their genre-defying mix of darkwave, gothic, post-punk, and electronic music, this album honors its roots while venturing into modern and progressive territories. It blends thick, brooding atmospheres, driving basslines, cinematic textures, downtuned guitars, and pulsing rhythms beneath haunting, intimate vocals.The result is a record that feels both expansive and intensely personal.
