Burial Moon returns with its second full-length album, Footnotes in the Devil’s Manuscript, a descent into the spaces between industrial ambience, drone minimalism, and literary decay. The record expands upon the project’s earlier foundations while moving deeper into the feverish, the forbidden, and the beautifully obscure.
Drawing inspiration from fin-de-siècle writers such as Arthur Rimbaud, Georges Bataille, and others who blurred sensuality with spiritual exhaustion, the album translates their decadent poetics into sound. Layers of corroded texture, distant harmonics, and fractured resonance unfold like pages from a dream where language itself begins to erode.
Behind Burial Moon stands Swedish sound artist Pierre B. Jonsson, whose work explores the tension between the cinematic and the ritualistic. With Footnotes in the Devil’s Manuscript, Jonsson continues to treat sound as psychic residue, a form of nocturnal writing traced in static, distortion, and silence.
